Where did you come from?
"I don't know," the tiny creature replied. "Where did you?"
"I am not sure," Bon Ami spoke with some hesitancy, as if trying to reach back into the furthest corners of her memory. "I just always was here...I think."
"Same with me." There was a perplexed expression on Bel Esprit's (brilliant one) face. "Have I seen you before," he asked.
It appeared as though Bon Ami was thinking hard for the length of a split second. (Things happen fast, here, as you know.) "Come to think of it, it seems like I must have bumped into you before, but I wasn't as smart as I am now."
Unfortunately Bon Ami's little friend had dozed off to sleep while she was talking. It wasn't easy to stay awake for long because they were very tiny, yet growing so fast.
To Bon Amie's delight she found a gigantic pipeline curving through the water. It was a weird-looking concoction. She examined its wrinkled, slippery exterior while enjoying the fascinating way it pulsated. Next she discovered a flat, pancake shaped object, but even as her fingers were inquisitively reaching out, her head dropped forward and her eyes fell shut. Bon Amie was snoozing.
